Colin Biggers & Paisley and
Step Forward Fundraising
We recently sat down with Daisy Johnson, Responsible Business Manager at Colin Biggers & Paisley (CBP) lawyers, to discuss the success of their Step Forward company-wide challenge supporting RizeUp run earlier this year.
When we originally started discussing Step Forward, Daisy stressed they were keen to include a fundraising element.
We showed her how Step Forward can help, by adding a button in the Step Forward app directing steppers to their challenge dashboard for their chosen charity, RizeUp. Participants were encouraged to click ‘join’ by making a donation.
They participated for two weeks with a targeted 8-day goal to walk 88,000 steps in total. They were truly amazing and raised over $26,000 dollars! A truly herculean effort!
Their Purpose:
Their purpose was to create both friendly competition and a physical challenge, “…as the people at CBP are a competitive bunch“. This was hosted by The CBP Foundation. The Foundation was set up to show the company’s commitment to integrating a human rights approach into its policies and practices.
The CBP Foundation decided to partner with RizeUp Australia to collaborate on one of their focus areas: promoting and protecting the rights of women and children. The Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation is committed to making a positive change for the families affected by domestic and family violence, and their motivation to partner with RizeUp Australia.
The Results:
The results of this challenge are not just reflected in the funds raised for RizeUp, amazing as the figure is (over $26,000), they are also in the added camaraderie and raised awareness of prioritising health through regular movement at work. Regular movement throughout our work day is supported by a Safework NSW article showing Australian workers spend approximately 76% of their time at work sitting, which equates to about five hours per day.
The CBP team were highly engaged in the event with the competition taken to new heights benefiting both workplace wellness and RizeUp. They loved Step Forward so much they are looking forward to their next challenge.
